Writing a book is personal, and sharing it can feel vulnerable. Many writers sense their manuscript isn't reaching its full potential but aren’t sure why or how to fix it.
Lucid Editing exists to provide clarity.
We help authors shape clearer, stronger manuscripts while preserving their voice and creative vision. Our feedback is honest, constructive, and focused on practical improvement - highlighting strengths while identifying opportunities for growth.
Our goal isn’t to rewrite your story, but to help you tell it more effectively.
We specialise in romance and fantasy, where emotional depth, character development, and immersive world building are essential. Writers who work with us receive thoughtful guidance from editors who respect the craft and understand the genre.

This is a comprehensive, hands-on evaluation of your manuscript.

Working with an editor should feel collaborative, clear and supportive. Here's what you can expect when you book with Lucid Editing.
Start by sending up to 2,000 words of your manuscript in Microsoft Word format and requesting the service you're interested in.
This allows us to review your writing and recommend the best editorial approach.
If you would like to proceed after the sample edit you will receive a short questionnaire to fill out, a personalised quote and timeline based on your manuscript.
Once you accept the quote, a deposit reserves your editing slot. We schedule projects carefully to give each manuscript focused attention.
You'll receive confirmation of your booking and your estimated completion date.
During your scheduled editing window, your manuscript receives a thorough, professional review tailored to your chosen service. We work carefully, respectfully and with your goals in mind.
If clarification is needed, we'll reach out. Communication is always open.
You will receive your edited manuscript and/or editorial report with clear, structured feedback. Our comments are designed to be practical, understandable and actionable.
You remain in full control of how you implement revisions.
Questions after delivery are welcome. Editing is a conversation, not a one-way transaction. We're here to clarify feedback and support your revision process.
Many writers return for further edits as their projects evolve.
We believe editing should strengthen confidence, not diminish it.
Every manuscript represents courage, effort and creativity, and we treat it that way.
